Week 2 of the 2014 NFL preseason live TV schedule kicks-off this Thursday night when the Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Chicago Bears from Soldier Field in Chicago. This weekend’s action promises to bring a bit more excitement than Week 1. Usually when it comes to preseason football in the NFL, Week 2 and Week 3 bring the most talent to the for front with the simple reason being that the starters will begin to get a lot more playing time over the next two weeks. It’s also a time for the Vegas gamblers to step up their games as well.
Money can be made in the preseason if you pay close attention. Certain teams try to win and play hard while others don’t care about the final score, but the performance by the individual players.
It only took the first weekend of preseason action to bring out the early questions and controversies for the upcoming season.
Who will be the starting QB in Cleveland in September, Johnny Manziel or Brian Hoyer? Is Buffalo’s Sammy Watkins as good as advertised? Will Jared Allen be a difference maker for the Bears defense in 2014? Of course like every preseason, the questions are endless. This weekend’s upcoming schedule doesn’t have the flare of marquee match-ups like Week 1 did, but the action should be a bit smoother as players start to dig in towards Week 3 – which is usually the week that the starters play a full half or 3 quarters of the game.
The biggest match-ups of the weekend look to be Denver at San Francisco (-3, Over/Under 41) 4:00 p.m. ET Sunday and Monday night Cleveland at Washington (-2, Over/Under 41) 8:00 p.m. ET when Johnny Manziel and RG3 collide in Washington.
