2015 NHL Stanley Cup Odds: Blackhawks, Kings Top Favorites

The 2014-15 NHL season is underway and already NHL fans can’t wait for the real season – the playoffs! The last five seasons have been dominated by the Chicago Blackhawks and LA Kings. The Kings are the defending champions and also won the Cup back in 2012 while the Blackhawks won the championship in 2010 and 2013. To no one’s surprise, these two teams lead the odds maker’s boards in most sports books as the early odds favorites to win this year’s Stanley Cup as well.

Even though Chicago didn’t win the Stanley Cup last season, the Blackhawks are listed as the team to beat at 13/2 odds. Last year’s Stanley Cup champs are 9/1 followed by Boston at 10/1 and Anaheim and Pittsburgh round out the top five favorites at 12/1.

One surprise is seeing the Nashville Predators sitting at the bottom of the NHL at 75/1. Just a few years back Nashville was giving teams in the West (yes, we don’t know why Nashville is in the Western Conference either) a run for their money. After making some key pick-ups in the off-season, the Preds are off to a nice 3-0 start on the season. It may be early, but watch out for Nashville as they are much better than a team listed at 75/1.
